Exercises for developing speed & control around the kit
Work with a metronome!! Here are tempo ranges to use as a guideline,
8 on a hand & 8/8/16: 80-150BPM+
Singles around kit, Singles/Doubles & Double stroke roll exercise: 60-150BPM+
Tips
- Be creative and come up with your own orchestrations after you have gotten comfortable with how they are written
- Work on accuracy by shooting right in the middle of each drum
- Record yourself
- play each one for 1-3 minutes at a given tempo to make sure you have it and to really program it into your muscle memory <<<< THIS GOES FOR ALL EXERCISES!
